This poster by the BNP Paribas Group presents a Mr. Net as a robot, an allusion to Procter and Gamble’s Mr. Clean, who guarantees the security of customers’ purchases on the Internet. Here the bank promotes its new BNP Net debit card, specially dedicated to online purchases.

When BNP launched its remote banking service in 1997, most electronic commerce in France went through the minitel. Four years later, BNP Paribas wanted to help customers, who were sometimes reticent to use their bankcard to pay for their online purchases, to acquire common electronic commerce practises. Consequently, the bank launched in October 2001 the BNP Net card and formula, two products designed to guarantee private individuals security in their online commerce transactions. The BNP Net card is a Visa Classic bankcard, equipped with Internet insurance and services. And the BNP Net formula applies to customers’ usual debit card, offering them the same guarantees as the BNP Net card.

With this new product, BNP Paribas confirmed its image as a leader in electronic banking and its ability to integrate new customs into its line of products and services.
